Patrick Mansell was born in 1946 in New London, Connecticut. He attended schools in Hawaii, Virginia, California and New York before graduating from the University of Miami in 1968 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He also has taken post graduate studies in the field of Marine Archaeology. During and after college Mr. Mansell was a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Since college he has enjoyed a career in Mortgage Banking in South Florida and is the co-owner of Coastal States Mortgage Corporation which he founded in 1978. His part time interests are mainly in the area of writing and boating and he usually enjoys several trips to the Bahamas each year. For three decades he has fished the Gulf Stream waters and other parts of the world including the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Central America and Hawaii.

Mr. Mansell is the author of the Bimini Twist Adventure series of books which includes Bimini Twist, Abaco Gold, Exuma Tide, Wave Dancer and Kona Kai. He has also written and published two other adventure novels outside the Bimini Twist series entitled The Fathers Club and Diamonds and Cubes, and was the Editor and Publisher of the non-fiction book Mortgage Banking and Residential Real Estate Finance. As one of South Florida's recognized novelists he has lectured extensively on the subject of creative writing and publishing. Mr. Mansell lives in Boca Raton, Florida with his wife and two sons.
